Chapter 1. General rule
- Article 1. (Designation) This organization is to be called the Korean Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology (also known as Research organization or KSDIN).
- Article 2. (Purpose) The goal of this research organization is to improve treatment and prognosis for patients with kidney disease by developing efficient and novel treatment procedures.

Article 3. (Business) The list of activities mentioned below are to be conducted to establish the purpose of this research organization:
- Conferences, meetings, and academic activities
- Publication in journals or books
- Training and educational business
- Research on diagnosis and treatment procedures
- Activities to build relationships between members
- Proceedings to establish the purpose of this research organization

Article 4 (Location)
The secretariat of this research organization is to be located in the university or hospital where the president works
Chapter 2. Membership

Article 5 (Types of membership and qualification)
Members agree to the purpose of this research organization and pay membership fees. Members can be divided into regular members, interns, and associate members. The qualification for each type of membership has been given below.
- Regular members
- 1) A nephrologist
- 2) A regular member of The Korean Society of Nephrology
- 3) A practitioner holding the Nephrology specialty license for a year
- 4) A medical doctor with 3 years of experience in managing dialysis patients and dialysis pathway-related tasks
- 5) Medical doctors or scientists in dialysis or dialysis access research
- Intern
- 1) An internal medicine doctor with less than a year of Nephrology training
- 2) A Nephrologist with less than a year of holding the specialty license
- 3) Resident
- Associate member
- 1) Nurses, technicians, or practitioners involved in dialysis or dialysis pathway-related tasks
- Article 6 (Regular members’ rights and obligations)
- 1) Regular members have the right to vote in the election, and a few matters and are eligible for election.
- 2) Regular members need to follow the regulations of KSDIN and the decisions made by the board of directors. They have to pay an annual membership fee.
- 3) To obtain a right to vote, regular members need to follow the regulations of the KSDIN and pay an annual membership fee.
- Article 7 (Interns’ and associate members’ rights and obligations)
- Interns and associate members do not have the right to vote for a few matters and are not eligible to contest in the election.
- No annual membership fee is required to be paid by the interns and associate members.

Article 8 (Membership suspension and dismissal)
Members’ membership can be suspended or dismissed by a decision made by the board of directors in the following list of scenarios:
- Suspension or dismissal of membership based on the decision made by the board of directors if a member disgraces the reputation of KSDIN or violates the regulations of KSDIN.
- Suspension of membership based on a decision made by the board of directors if the members do not follow their obligations.
Chapter 3. Board officers

Article 9 (Board officers)
KSDIN board members as listed below
- President (1 person)
- General affairs director (1 person)
- Vice Leader (1 person)
- Director (less or more than 15 people)
- Auditor (1 person)

Article 10 (Board officers’ election and term)

1) General affairs and directors recommended by the present president or directors belong ing to the research committee are eligible to elect the presidential candidate.

2) Presidential candidate provides recommendations, letters, and resumes to the general affairs, and the general affairs provides documents to the research committee. Once the presidential candidate has been confirmed, the general affairs provides the candidate’s recommendation letters and resumes regular membership for a month before the election. From there, regular members can vote during the general assembly.

3) Majority of the members must be present during the president’s election. Power of attorney with the signature of a regular member is acknowledged as presence, but not for suffrage. Presidential candidate with the most votes will be elected as president.

4) The term of the president is 2 years, and can be up to 4 years if re-elected. The term of the president cannot exceed 4 years. Absence of the president for the remaining term can be taken care of by the general affairs. In the absence of any board member, the president can nominate members to take responsibility for board members for the remaining term.

5) General affairs and vice leaders can be nominated by the elected president. Each board director can be nominated by a committee comprising of the president, general affairs, and vice leaders and can be approved during the general assembly.

6) Auditors recommended by the previous president, previous general affairs, and the present president can be elected during the general assembly.

Article 11 (Duty of board officers)
- The President represents this research organization and is the chairperson for the general assembly and director meeting
- The President manages the businesses of this research organization.
- The General affairs assists the president in managing the administrative tasks, events, and businesses of the research organization.

Chapter 4. Director committee

Article 12 (Convocation of the board of directors)
- The Board of directors is comprised of members from article 13 who can be called upon by the president if needed, or the majority of registered directors if requested.
- The call can be made in the presence of majority of the registered directors and can be determined by majority agreement.

Article 13 (Duties of the board of directors)
- Vice leader: Assists the General affairs to manage contacts, rewards, and academic events.
- Academic director: Directs and manages lectures, conferences, and related tasks.
- Educational director: Manages meetings and training educational businesses.
- Director of public relations: Manages public relations and communications
- Research director: Manages cooperative research directed by academia
- Finance director: Manages finances and funds
- The further need for any director needs to be created by the president and requires confirmation in the general assembly

Article 14 (Right of the board of director)
Board of directors can have decision-making rights pertaining to matters mentioned in the list below:
- Subjects related to research business, conference, and training educational business.
- Subjects related to the modification of legislation and regulations.
- Subject important to the KSDIN business

Article 15 (Committee composition)
- A director of the board can compose a committee with a few board members.
- Members of the committee can be nominated by the president as requested by directors.
- The term of a committee is the same as that of a director
- Each director can be the chairman of the committee
- The decisions made by the committee need to be reported to the board of directors and requires approval from the board.
- Other subjects will be handled based on the general guidelines.
Chapter 5. General assembly

Article 16 (General assembly)
- The general assembly comprises the regular general assembly and extraordinary general assembly.
- Regular general assembly is to be called once a year by the President, and the President acts as a chair person.

President has to call an extraordinary general assembly if required as per the conditions mentioned in the list below:
- 1) Needed by the President of the board of directors
- 2) Needed by more than 1/3 of members

General assembly considers and makes decisions on the following:
- 1) Approval of legislation and regulation
- 2) Approval of election of President and selection of the board of directors
- 3) Approval of audit
Chapter 6. Finance

Article 17 (Source of finance)
Sources of finance in KSDIN are membership fees and donations.

Article 18 (Management of finance)

- The membership fee of KSDIN is determined by the board of directors and approved in the general assembly.
- Financial support for the practice, education, and research-related diagnostic and interventional Nephrology can be determined by the board of directors
- The fiscal year of KSDIN is from January 1st to December 31st of the year.

Every fiscal year’s business records and balance sheet of income and expenditure needs to be made within 3 months of the termination of each fiscal year and approved in the general assembly.
