The Korean Society of the Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology conducts research and education on the latest knowledge on the management and treatment of dialysis access, which is also increasing as the number of dialysis patients increases due to the aging population and the increase in the population with diabetes and high blood pressure, and shares experiences and further provides actual procedures. This is an academic meeting that helps you do that. Our research group was founded in July 2010 and operates under the Society of Nephrology. We conduct research and treatment for practical and ideal treatment for multidisciplinary treatment involving medical staff from not only nephrology but also vascular surgery, thoracic surgery, and radiology. It is developing into a gathering for people.
Since its establishment in 2010, this research group has continued to carry out academic and educational activities such as quarterly home-and-answer sessions, training lectures, and Korea-Japan symposiums. In 2015, it successfully held the “Dialysis Access Symposium 2015” international conference under the sponsorship of the Korean Society of Nephrology to promote the field of nephrology. We have created an opportunity to solidify our position in Asia by highlighting the emerging field of interventional nephrology around the world. This also served as the foundation for the founding of the Asian Pacific Society of Dialysis Access.
This research group aims to provide a sample of multidisciplinary care by gathering the best medical staff for proper management and ultimate treatment of vascular access as mentioned at the beginning and to provide the best treatment, education, and research. In addition, related medical staff such as dialysis room nurses, radiographers, and doctors in training who are involved in such treatment are granted associate member status, and various educational courses and guidelines related to the work of these people are presented. Through this process, they are given the opportunity to acquire expert knowledge and skills about dialysis access, ultimately reaching the goal of the best dialysis access management and treatment, and providing a foundation for directly performing interventional procedures. Efforts are being made to expand.
I believe that the emotions felt by an interventional doctor upon seeing the dynamic flow of an arteriovenous fistula are the beginning and end of hemodialysis treatment. Like this flow of arteriovenous fistulas, we, the Korean Interventional Nephrology Research Society, will continue to actively encourage the activities of our members with a dynamic movement and promote the development of interventional nephrology in Korea through academic aspects, procedural aspects, and various domestic and international academic exchanges, ultimately leading to the development of dialysis. We will strive to develop into an organization that presents world-class standards in the treatment and management of patients' acupoints and access routes and contributes to improving the quality of life of patients. We would like to ask for the participation and advice of many members. thank you.
